THE MARTYR 2
———-
To be young and shown the love
—–
To be invited to a friend’s house
—–
To go and then be told you are not invited to the gathering
—–
To cry at the exclusion
—–
Your friend tells you it is better this way
—–
To serve a retired priest
—–
To be asked to serve for the gathering of prelates
—–
Yet shown to stand in the corner
—–
To watch a field football game
—–
To be punished by a nun who punishes the spectators and the players
—–
Though he is not invited to play
—–
To show a woman “I love you” yet she says “oh be the martyr”
—–
To be unfavored, cast out, thrown away
—–
This is the life of the martyr
—–
Some are cast, some are killed
—–
Is it pride, is it hurt, is the pain real
—–
Yet for the greater purpose
—–
To yield as asked to give the widow’s mite
—–
For some the widow’s mite is all
—–
Do not fret for much more is gained for what is given
—–
To be old and not much has changed
—–
Spend the days as others pity the reassurance that all is lost
—–
Some say he has lost everything
—–
He has nothing more to give
—–
He went the wrong way
—–
Who can help him now
—–
Who can help anyone like him now
—–
Is it a priest, the eternal priest, Jesus Christ….I love you mike, thank you
—–
As we retire, we eat, we sleep, and we await death and resurrection.
—–
Some retire to such. Others to the hermitage, diaconate, priesthood.
—–
Some have but only one true friend His name is Jesus Christ.
—–
To cry the sorrow the joy of exclusion
—–
A true friend is to die for…to give to life…the martyr
———-
And then they roast you over an open flame, with lots of butter… lol
