A GOOD FRIEND AND THE HEART
———-
“who are our loved ones but the good friends…those we lose for a time through death, or distance.”
—–
A man once had a good friend. He loved his friend “more than life itself.” He conjured in his mind all of the enjoyable experiences they could share while forging through life.
—–
God intervenes and reminds him…”you love him more than life itself, more than you love me. For this reason, I must teach you the distance placed between a man’s heart and his good friend.”
—–
The distance between a man and his good friend is by separation, a form of death. The distance between a man and his God is immeasurable, for the distance to a man’s heart, from that man’s heart is life itself.
—–
God allows distance between a man and his good friend for love, that both may know, to appreciate, life taken away.
—–
God ordains distance to a man’s heart, from a man’s heart to know, to appreciate, life given toward.
—–
God has a jealous heart. He resides within a man’s heart that he may know to whom he belongs,
soberly, resident-ly, resolutely.
—–
So, does the good man do God’s will and detach himself from everyone, and all things, except God, or does he confirm his lesson to God by choosing to become a monk, in his heart. To profess that one lives “in the world and still attach to one, another, person or thing is still living “of the world.”
—–
Caregivers, care sharers, learn such humble lesson when the caring, the sharing is no longer possible, or allowed, for the good of those concerned. Most edifying spiritual lessons “bite.”
—–
“the body prefers what the spirit rejects…”
—–
“to laugh at a monkey monk is silliness, revelry in its most serious, enjoyable form…”
—–
If these words anger anyone, then he should retire them until a later time, when times are rough, when life makes no sense at all. For at such time, no spoken words suffice, but only that of the silent prayer in the heart sustains, prevails.
———-
So to myself, I say, ” you selfish idiot, reject pride, be silent, ponder God; learn that you are no savior of persons or things, but only a patron journeying the road back to God. A lesson learned is a lesson preached. There is only one humble savior of the world. His name is Jesus Christ, born of Mary.”
