gentle as doves wise as serpents

GENTLE AS DOVES WISE AS SERPENTS
———-
The Lord calls his people to be gentle with neighbors, brothers.
—–
The Lord calls his people to be wise as serpents, to recognize evil strategies of others.
—–
For God’s children are to think, speak and act as children, in faith, before him.
—–
God allows for human strategies in those of the world, but not in his children.
—–
“to be wise as serpents” implies God’s heartfelt desire that his children follow holy protocol,
—–
the innocence to believe in him in total disregard for the world, as little children do.
—–
The allowance made to those of the world who employ human strategy is God’s permissive will,
—–
not his ordaining will.
—–
“gentle as doves,” as little children living innocently about the world, and “wise as serpents,” as children
—–
living soberly in the world — these truths embody God’s will for his children.
